CSKA Communications Director Kirill Breido said that the Moscow club could not prevent Mario Fernandez from continuing his career at home at this stage.

“The club did not object to Mario continuing his career in Brazil and took into account his desire to be home with his wife and newborn son. We only support his desire to continue his career. That’s our resolution with Mario for next year.

We have a mutual desire to see Mario in CSKA jersey again,” says Breido. “Sport Express”.

Mario has been playing for the Russian club since 2012, and since 2017 he regularly plays for the Russian national team.

Recall that it was learned that before the last game of CSKA last season, the 31-year-old former defender of the Russian national team, Fernandez, decided to suspend his career indefinitely. The club went to meet the team’s old timer and did not interfere with his departure. In the summer, the player refused to suspend his contract with the Muscovites, by the right of the International Football Federation (FIFA).

He returned to Brazil to rest and be with his family. In September, Mario and his wife had a son. His contract with the Russian club expires in 2024.

Formerly Sergei Balakhnin Mario Fernandez’s return to Russia considered uncertain.
