The head coach of the Russian national team, Valery Karpin, is not sure if the national team can make it out of the group at the World Championships in Qatar.
“I’m not sure about leaving the group. A lot will depend on the group, the shape of the players, what kind of players they will have, the number of injuries. The fact that they won’t whip the boys, I think yes,” reports Karpin sports24.
Recall that the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Association of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to exclude the Russian national team and all Russian clubs from participation in all competitions controlled by these organizations.
In the spring, the wards of Valery Karpin could not participate in the 2022 World Cup play-offs, and in September it became known that the draw for the 2024 European Championship was missed.
Two quarter-finals were played simultaneously at the World Championships on Friday. The Croatian national team beat Brazil (4:2) on penalties, and Argentina was also stronger than the Netherlands (4:3) in the penalty shootout series.
