Hockey player dies during match of amateur teams in Cheboksary

The hockey player died at the age of 37 in a match between amateur teams in Cheboksary. This has been reported official site Prosecutor’s Office of the Chuvash Republic.

“According to preliminary information, during a hockey match between amateur teams on the evening of April 12, 2022 in the premises of the Cheboksary-Arena Ice Palace, a 37-year-old hockey player from the city’s hockey players. Novocheboksarsk fell ill and died after a while,” the statement said.

By information Regional Directorate of the RF IC in Chuvashia, the hockey player of the Yalchiki team died, not waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

“According to preliminary data, the cause of death of the hockey player was not a crime, but was related to the health condition of the deceased. The exact cause of death will be determined after histological and chemical studies.

Earlier, Soviet skater Irina Vorobyeva Passed 64 years old.

Paired with Alexander Vlasov in 1976, Vorobyeva won the USSR Championship for the first time in Volgograd. That same year, the couple finished fourth at the Innsbruck Olympics.

Together with Igor Lisovsky, Vorobyova became the world and European champion (1981). They won silver (1977, 1979) and bronze (1976, 1982) twice at the European Championships.
