TM Benidorm added their second straight defeat at home when they lost to BM Ángel Ximénez Puente Genil, who failed to win in five games and clearly and rightfully beat the Alicante people in a great second half.
Performance of goalkeeper Álvaro de Hita and successful launch of Pomeranz, Luisfe Reina and Graça Ribeiro 22 goals between the threethey put too much weight on a TM Benidorm, blaming the fatigue of the two competitive fronts and the losses they faced in the match.
The match started with a fantastic Norlander in the Puente Genil goal, but his team were unable to take advantage of the offensive drought, which took six minutes for the local team to score, to open a gap.
Gradually, TM Benidorm adjusted its defense and managed to take control of the scoreboard, exploiting a few mistakes from his opponent, but an infallible Pomeranz kept the Andalusians in the game.
At 12-9, visiting coach Paco Bustos took a timeout (min. 21) to stop a local escape threat and the game changed radically.Referring to Pomeranz and Graça Ribeiro again in offense, his team managed to finish the half two goals ahead (14-16).
The game continued at the beginning of the second period. TM Benidorm emptied the target to seek offensive superiority, but found an impenetrable De Hita.
With 16-22 on the leaderboard, Fernando Latorre stopped the game to wake up his team, but the gap only widened for Puente Genil, who prevailed by seven goals (17-24). Iván’s insistence and several saves from Roberto allowed TM Benidorm to narrow the lead to just three goals with seven minutes left, but the Cordoba team was not strained and De Hita and Luisfe Reina stepped back onto the scene to score a calm victory.
