Italian football player and activist Mario Ferri appeared on the field in the match played between the Portuguese and Uruguay national teams in Qatar of the 2nd round group stage of the 2022 World Cup. It has been reported La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The incident occurred in the 51st minute of the match. The Italian carried a rainbow flag (a symbol of the LGBT community). He also wore a T-shirt that read “Respect Iranian women” and “Save Ukraine”.

The man entered the broadcast of the fight for only a few seconds, interrupted for minutes as stadium workers tried to catch the violator.
