Russian National Team Head Coach Valery Karpin’s wife Daria Karpina talked to the national team fans on her social networks after the friendly match against Tajikistan.
“I read the comments about yesterday’s match. How embarrassed I am for our fans (not all of them of course) not because our guys were watered down, but because I’m already immune to it.
I am ashamed and embarrassed to read what words they said, how they belittled but only insulted their opponents. A country that accepts to play and is very warmly welcomed. Can you at least hold onto it? Sport is also about respecting the opponent,” Karpina wrote.
Yesterday the Russian team drew with Tajikistan (0:0). Valery Karpin used all the substitutions, and seven new players simultaneously made their debut for the national team. These are goalkeepers Alexander Selikhov and Sergey Pesyakov, as well as field players Alexander Soldatenkov, Daniil Khlusevich, Sergey Pinyaev, Lechi Sadulaev and Vladimir Sychevoi.
Recall that the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Association of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to exclude the Russian national team and all Russian clubs from participation in all competitions controlled by these organizations.
