Anton Zabolotny, the CSKA forward from St. Petersburg, spoke about the key moments of the clash with Zenit, according to the club’s press service.

In the 20th round of the Russian Premier League, CSKA clinched a 1-0 victory at home over Zenit, with Fedor Chalov scoring the decisive goal for the army side.

“Zenit wins the league more often than not, and for every team they remain a formidable opponent in any match. It makes sense to grab points from them when possible”, Zabolotny stated.

It is noted that Zabolotny wore Zenit colors from 2018 to 2019, before moving to CSKA.

Under the guidance of Sergei Semak, Zenit continues to lead the standings with 55 points. CSKA, coached by Vladimir Fedotov, sits in fourth place with 44 points, closing the gap with the leaders.

Earlier reports indicated that Boris Ignatyev, the former head coach of the Russian national team, had been dismissed. There was also anticipation for the upcoming derby between CSKA and Lokomotiv in the 24th round of the league. The analyst noted that the red-greens are showing signs of elevation, and a victory against the army squad could return them to the summit of the table. According to Ignatyev, there are no clear favorites in the forthcoming match.
