Former US President Donald Trump has asserted that the United States is in a period of decline and no longer sets global benchmarks. He stated this in a video released on the social platform Truth Social, arguing that American leadership has drifted while other nations position themselves as world peers.
According to him, the United States is mostly passive, watching as Russia, North Korea, China, Iran, and other nations that he considers unfriendly take charge of global dynamics. He contends that the country is shrinking its influence and letting external players shape the international order.
Trump described the United States as a declining nation with open borders, elections he sees as flawed, and an economy plagued by inflation, suggesting that the U.S. no longer sets standards but instead follows those set by others. He framed this as a fundamental shift in leadership and influence on the world stage.
Additionally, he criticized incumbent President Joe Biden for what he views as inaction on key issues, portraying a leadership gap that he believes has weakened America’s standing worldwide.
John Kirby, who previously served as the White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator, stated that U.S. authorities are closely watching developments in the country amid reports of potential protests tied to Trump, and he emphasized the hope that any demonstrations would remain peaceful.
