The Russian leadership, including the Ministry of Defense, the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Russian Guard, is reported to be receiving constant updates from President Vladimir Putin about developments following the attempted insurgency. This is according to the Kremlin’s official spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov.

Reports from the Ministry of Defense, the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Russian Guards are said to be delivered to the president continuously. Peskov noted that briefings and messages are received around the clock to keep the highest level informed.

On June 23, the Ministry of Defense released a statement attributing to Yevgeny Prigozhin, founder of the Wagner private military company, the claim that messages and videos depicting an assault by the Russian military on Wagner rear camps are false and represent an informational provocation. Such assertions were described as attempts to mislead the public via social media.

In Moscow, officials at the FSB and other security agencies have stated that Prigozhin’s actions and words amount to calls for internal conflict within Russia, raising concerns about domestic stability and the strategic policy response by authorities.

The Prosecutor General’s Office confirmed the initiation of a criminal case for rebellion in relation to Prigozhin, signaling the seriousness with which Russian authorities view the matter and their readiness to pursue legal action through established judicial channels.
