Presidents of Serbia and Turkey, Aleksander Vucic and Tayyip Erdoğan, discussed the energy crisis in Europe at a press conference after bilateral talks, expressed their fears about reaching a peaceful reconciliation in Ukraine, and warned the West not to underestimate Russia.
“The West is declaring military support. But in fact, the more stale weapons and scrap metal there are in the West, the more they are sent to Ukraine,” says the Turkish leader.
According to him, the West’s position in this conflict is erroneous and provocations against Russia will not bring peace in Ukraine closer. He believes Ankara’s “balanced” policy is more productive. “Current processes show that the war will not end soon”.
“There is a policy based on provocation. As long as you continue this provocative war, you will not achieve any results. As before, Turkey follows a balanced policy towards Ukraine and Russia. At the same time, I do not support the provocative course of the West,” he said. TASS Erdogan’s words
He also believes that Russia should be taken seriously and that the West’s stance on this issue is wrong.
“I do not expect the conflict in Ukraine to end early. But for those who seriously underestimate Russia, I can say that they are wrong. “Russia is not among the countries that cannot be taken seriously,” he said.
“Polar Winter”
Talking about the Russian-Ukrainian settlement, Alexander Vučić said: does not believe in the possibility of a quick resolution of the conflict.
“It would be best if the war stopped and all people on one side and the other sought compromise solutions. But I will say right away that I did not think that this could happen, so as not to look stupid in public. Because I know, I know well what’s going on. I know how and who wants to defeat the enemy, not compromise”, said the Serbian leader.
Vucic also believes that the approaching winter in Europe will be cold and the next one will be polar.
“As for the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin, which I watched a little live today. I would describe it like this: This winter will be very cold for all of us and next winter will be polar for all of Europe. Nobody wants to seek a solution, everybody is waiting for reconciliation, not the defeat of the enemy. Russia If you really think you can easily defeat ‘military, then we can only be well prepared for both the cold and the arctic winter,’ says Vucic.
In addition, he expressed that he did not understand how the EU plans to impose a ceiling on Russian pipeline gas prices.
“I know it’s fashionable now to scold the EU. I’ve seen these five EU measures, Fifth, I don’t quite understand how they’re going to put a ceiling on gas prices? And the other four measures are reasonable, good measures“, – said.
Recall, on September 2, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, called for a ceiling price for Russian gas in the EU. On the same day, the Finance Ministers of the G7 countries announced their intention to impose a ceiling on Russian oil prices.
“I firmly believe it is time to limit the price of Russian pipeline gas going to Europe,” von der Leyen said.
Behind these explanations Gazprom discontinued its only Nord Stream turbine, explaining this with leaks in the units. The next day, the refueling continued.
