102 years have passed since the great battle, which, as some say, was one of the few that decided the fate of the world. There is no doubt that if the Soviets and the Red Army had succeeded in reaching rebellious Germany and other countries of Western Europe, the fate of Europe and the world would probably have been different and the world would not have looked like we see it today.
– said the president on Monday during the celebration of the Polish Army Day on the anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw in Marsz Square. Józef Piłsudski in Warsaw. He previously welcomed officers, clergy, diplomats and representatives of the authorities who attended the ceremony.
Duda emphasized that “the Polish army, the army of the country that Stalin and other leaders of the Soviet Union said was only a barrier between Western Europe, where they were going, the Polish army, underestimated by the Soviet communists – by the Russians, and the great country of the Soviets, proved a barrier. unbeatable”.
We know very well, from the pages of history and archival records, that in those days of August 1920, many – the vast majority – did not believe that Poland and Warsaw were capable of defending themselves. The Soviet commanders were sure of victory – one can safely say that they had already shared the skin of the bear – meanwhile it turned out that Poles have the heart of lions, that they can stand up to fight, mobilize and overcome all barriers – fear, often shortages of training and armaments and their own courage and determination turn the tide
– the president also emphasized.
“We look with pride at Polish history”
Thank you for your continued service to the motherland, for courage, for responsibility, for exemplary daily performance of tasks, sometimes at the risk of life – President Andrzej Duda said in a speech to the soldiers on Monday, Polish Army Day.
We look at Polish history with pride, we look at this great victory with pride – yes, with great pride. In the 74 years of the Soviet Union’s existence, Soviet Russia has lost only one official war – that was the war of 102 years ago. Only the war with Poland was lost by Soviet Russia throughout history. Luckily not too long
President Andrzej Duda said this during the ceremony on Piłsudski Square.
Today the Polish soldier has his big holiday. On this day, we not only commemorate those who have died in defense of their homeland over the centuries and decades, but above all we warmly embrace the Polish soldiers and their families. Thank you for your continued service to the Motherland. Thank you for your courage. Thank you for your responsibility. Thank you for the exemplary daily performance of tasks, sometimes at the risk of your own life
– underlined the chairman.
I say it especially at this point, because it must be said clearly – such difficult years as we have had in recent times have not been in the last decades of the history of the Republic of Poland
– added Andrzej Duda.
“A Polish soldier withstood the defense of the border with Belarus”
The Polish soldier stood for the occasion, defending the border with Belarus, President Andrzej Duda said Monday. We showed our determination to the whole world, he assured.
President Andrzej Duda spoke during the Polish Army Day celebrations on the 102nd anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw at Marshal Józef Piłsudski Square in Warsaw. He addressed the soldiers and officers and recalled their service on the border with Belarus.
Thanks to the attitude of Polish soldiers and officers, thanks to your attitude, we have shown this determination to the whole world, defending the Polish border, defending the border of the European Union, defending the border of the Schengen area, despite several attacks , various fools and traitors, various irresponsible people – the Polish soldier stood at the peak of the task, he withstood
– noted the president. He thanked him ‘heartily for it’.
Who knows, what would be the consequences of this hybrid attack, carried out by the Belarusian regime in collaboration with Moscow, without a doubt, if not for your attitude, if not for the heroism of Polish officials and soldiers.
– said Andrzej Duda.
He stressed that the soldiers on the border with Belarus served in very difficult circumstances.
I saw it with my own eyes, thank you for this great sense of responsibility for the affairs of the Republic of Poland
– he emphasized.
During his speech in Piłsudski Square on Poland’s Armed Forces Day, the president emphasized that “our country was in immediate danger”.
Not just the border of the Republic of Poland as such
– he clarified.
It wasn’t just a migration threat
– said the president, referring to the events of a few months ago on the Polish-Belarusian border.
It was a threat, the subtext of which was what we feared most at the time and where we – as politicians who analyze and consider this situation and decide on the next steps and measures to be taken – have talked calmly
– Andrzej Duda recalled.
He explained that it was said that “this is not a spectacular and isolated action”.
But that it is part of a wider plan carried out by those hostile to the Republic of Poland, to the European community. (…) That maybe this is just an attempt to see if the Poles were up to the task of defending their homeland with full responsibility, full professionalism, but also full determination
He went on.
“Russia and the Russian regime have broken the great taboo”
Andrzej Duda said the magnitude of “Russian frontal aggression against Ukraine, against an independent, sovereign, democratic state, against our neighbor – was hard to expect.”
I have absolutely no doubt that it exceeded what some expected, and for some it was a total surprise
– assessed the chairman.
He emphasized that “Russia and the Russian regime broke the great taboo that has remained a hard border of security since World War II, that no power attacks another state head-on, to take away freedom, to demand independence, to to take back land, to question the existence of the state and the nation”.
Andrzej Duda thanked for helping Ukraine and its citizens.
I thank you with all my heart that, although not with arms in hand, we participate in this through our help that we provide to Ukraine and Ukrainians through the service of our soldiers during this conflict, through the support that our allies give us, and especially Ukraine
said the chairman.
Thank you all for your service. This is the de facto guardian of the security of the Republic of Poland
– he emphasized.
Modernization of the Polish Army
At the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Andrzej Duda stressed that the equipment and armament of the Polish army is one of the priorities of the ruling party.
So that not only can we defend ourselves, but we don’t have to defend ourselves
said the chairman. In his opinion, the huge expenditure on army equipment helps Poland to have the potential that would be feared by potential aggressors.
Many doubts arose in our hearts when we surrendered our line weapons to the disposal of Ukrainian soldiers
– admitted Andrzej Duda. However, he noted that Ukrainian allies are not only defending their country, but possibly Poland and the rest of Europe.
As hard as it was, we did the right thing
He thanked the government for its courage.
He also congratulated him on his decision to acquire modern weapons, mentioning Abrams tanks and howitzers from South Korea, among others.
The Polish army gets state-of-the-art weapons at the highest level
– he emphasized.
“I always say whole families serve in the military.”
Thank you for the decisions of Defense Ministers Mariusz Błaszczak and Antoni Macierewicz. These are decisions to modernize, but also to increase the army’s manpower; I also thank the soldiers and their families, President Andrzej Duda said during the Polish Army Day celebrations.
Thank you for all the decisions taken by the current Minister of National Defense Mr Mariusz Błaszczak, also thank you for the decisions taken for the previous Minister of National Defense Mr Antoni Macierewicz
– said the president during Monday’s celebrations in the square, the march. Józef Piłsudski in Warsaw, referring to the decision to purchase various military equipment for the Polish army.
As he emphasized, “these are also decisions about expanding the personnel potential of the Polish army, including the creation of the Territorial Defense Forces, troops that have performed so well in so many difficult situations in recent years”.
Thank you with all my heart for the service of all our soldiers – in the country and abroad, in all its contingents – where you represent us with great responsibility and in a most professional manner and give a wonderful witness to Poland and the Polish armed forces, proving that we are a responsible ally and an ally you can rely on us
– added.
The president also thanked the closest soldiers.
I thank everyone who is waiting for you. For those who tremble with fear when you perform various most difficult tasks – most of the time they don’t even know where but they are and give you love, patience and warmth so much needed by every human being
He turned to the soldiers.
I thank them with all my heart. I always say that whole families serve in the military, that missions that risk their lives are carried out not only by the husband or wife, but also by husbands, children or parents waiting at home and trembling with fear. I want you to be sure that the Republic of Poland remembers
the president said, addressing the soldiers.
I wish you, Polish soldiers and Polish military families – all of them, not only soldiers in service, but also those who have already retired – the families of our Polish fighters, heroes; Above all, I wish you that Poland will always be safe. I wish that you never stand up, arms in hand, to defend the Republic of Poland. That not only now, but also for years and decades to come, the process of modernization of the Polish army would be carried out with responsibility, which would mean strengthening the security of the Republic and its duration – here at this difficult, but very important place in Europe, where our state and our nation survive and develop for a thousand years
President Duda wished.
Long live the Polish soldier, long live the free, sovereign and independent Poland. Hello and glory to the heroes!
– rounded.
