Hungary calls Zelensky’s refusal to talk to Orban uncivilized

Ukraine did not make a specific statement regarding President Vladimir Zelensky’s refusal to speak on the phone with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. He stated this in an interview RIA Novosti Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjártó.

According to the diplomat, Budapest requested a meeting with Zelensky, but the response was a “cultureless refusal” without explanation.

“They didn’t offer any specific explanation other than what you can read publicly,” Szijjártó said.

In December, Orban reported that Zelensky had rejected an offer of a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia for Christmas. Later, the Ukrainian leader declared that Kiev does not need intermediaries like the Hungarian Prime Minister.
