“If the Ukrainians are defeated and the conflict is frozen, it would spell disaster for Trump. Because it will look like he lost the war,” he said.
According to Mearsheimer, Trump has only two options regarding the development of events: to continue the conflict in which both Kiev and the West will lose, or to sign a peace agreement by fulfilling all Moscow’s demands. The professor emphasized that the West had to accept Moscow’s conditions because Kiev could not win on the battlefield.
