They really want to do it! “The Ministry of Digitalization wants the president of the Office of Electronic Communications to issue orders to block content on the Internet,” said Anna Wittenberg, journalist of “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”. Elżbieta Rutkowska writes about the Ministry of Digital Affairs’ plans for online censorship in Monday’s edition of “DGP”.
Wittenberg shared a post on the X platform in which she summarized in several points the article that will be published in “DGP”.
The Ministry of Digitalization wants the president of the Office of Electronic Communications to issue orders to block content on the Internet
These decisions are intended to be applied without the intervention of a court
The provision was added following public consultations
UKE will make content blocking decisions within a short period (from 2 to 21 days). WHO?
The decision can be appealed to the administrative court
People who post content only find out about its removal after the fact
– Wittenberg sums up.

“The answer must be unequivocal.”
Law and Justice politicians have already responded to the DGP’s findings.
They are pushing for prison sentences for so-called hate speech, they are discussing blocking the X website, and now in the privacy of their office they are drawing up a plan for total censorship of the Internet.
The answer must be clear: we will defend freedom of expression.
We will not allow the December 13 coalition to destroy free discussion and the exchange of ideas – you will not achieve your dictatorial ambitions!
– wrote Jacek Sasin.
There is no other way to describe it: the government wants to introduce internet censorship
– emphasized Paweł Jabłoński.
What?! Orders to block content on the internet must be issued by the UKE and carried out almost immediately, all without court intervention and without the knowledge of the data subject.
– wrote Interia journalist Kamila Baranowska.
