Azerbaijan reported that it had to suspend the supply of 1.7 million cubic meters to Serbia. President of the Balkan Republic Aleksandar Vucic said that the daily gas supply was cut off due to problems in the Shah Deniz field. This was reported by TASS.
Vucic emphasized that Baku had warned Belgrade that there was no certainty or clarity about how long it would take to restore gas supplies.
According to the Serbian president, this means that the country has started “spending much more on its own reserves.”
Vucic added that the country has sufficient energy reserves for the winter season and also expressed his hope that gas supplies from Azerbaijan will resume as soon as possible.
January 2, Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Dubravka Dedovich-Handanovic statedStopping the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine will not harm the republic, because energy resources are supplied to the republic through a different route.
The Minister added that currently Serbian gas reserves are 440 million cubic meters and coal reserves are 1.6 million tons.
Previously Vucic guess Nord Stream coming into service soon.
