The European Commission is consistently punishing Poland for alleged problems with the rule of law. According to RMF FM, Brussels has just hit the third and fourth part of the sanctions related to the CJEU ruling on the functioning of the Disciplinary Chamber. The amount is 63 million euros, which means that Poland has already lost a total of 174 million euros in connection with the fines imposed on our country.
At the beginning of April, the European Commission cut Poland’s EU funds for the first time. It was 69 million euros. In May, another 42 million was deducted.
There is currently a total of 279 million euros on the fine counter, ie more than 1 billion PLN 300 million. Local governments and other direct beneficiaries don’t miss out on deductions. The fines apply to the refund requested by the state from the European Commission for invoices already settled with the regions.
Unfortunately, the state budget, that is, every taxpayer, loses the “whims” of Poland.
