“After my intervention in the European Parliament about the lack of an application for flood funds, Minister Kierwiński wrote that the application must be properly prepared (…). The next day, when all the media are already writing about it, Tomasz Siemoniak submits an application,” wrote Waldemar Buda, PiS member, on Platform On. after Buda drew attention to the fact that the Polish authorities have not yet submitted an application for the disbursement of EU funds to help flood victims, while the governments of Germany and Italy have received EUR 112 million and EUR 4 million respectively. In recent days, Kierwiński became even stronger and… he went to Poland with promises and statements that in the Opole region 90 percent had already been paid. advantages.
In fact, not a day goes by without the media (including the portal wPolityce.pl and Telewizja wPolsce24) reporting further cases of negligence or delays in government aid to Poland who suffered from the September flood.
Kierwiński addresses Buda
To paraphrase the already famous media clique: this time it was not Prime Minister Donald Tusk who was furious, but Minister Marcin Kierwiński, the government’s representative for the post-flood reconstruction program, who was dragged out of prison by his director. bench in the European Parliament for this responsible job. Because the opposition politician, despite such a great sacrifice from Minister Kierwiński, had the audacity to say that the Polish authorities, whom no one in Brussels can beat (because it is difficult to beat someone who does not play at all, as in this specific case) situation) has not applied for the disbursement of EU funds to help alleviate the effects of floods.
One of the authors of blocking KPO money for Poland decided to spread disinformation. It is hard to believe that a former minister (even if he is in the PiS government) does not know that we are on time and that the application will contain accurate loss calculations. In short: the more accurate the estimate, the faster the money reaches us. In response to other PiS ‘experts’ on disinformation, the Solidarity Fund is not the Cohesion Fund. And to Mr Buda (who probably knows this but prefers to manipulate): the countries you mention experienced floods in May and June! Poland will submit the application on time
— Kierwiński wrote on the X platform the day before yesterday.
As you can see, the government representative certainly knows very well, but prefers to pretend that he does not know what happened to the KPO money and that the European Commission has changed the rules many times during the game, and the political allies of the Civic Coalition and the left in the European Parliament almost mass-produced subsequent resolutions on the allegedly undemocratic rule of PiS in Poland, and Polish MEPs from these formations applauded such actions?
Buda: I won’t judge the ability, but I suggest less arrogance
The point is that – as MEP Buda pointed out – some strange things later started happening around the support for flood victims.
After my intervention in the European Parliament about the lack of an application for flood funds, Minister Marcin Kierwiński wrote that the application must be well prepared, the losses are now being estimated and that they have time. And Buda……..The next day, when all the media are already writing about it, Tomasz Siemoniak submits an application. I won’t judge the competency of this team, but I suggest less arrogance
– wrote the former Minister of Development and Technology.
The government of Mateusz Morawiecki estimated and paid billions to entrepreneurs during Covid and the start of the war in two weeks. After all, these are victims of floods and human dramas💔
– emphasized Waldemar Buda.
Has the application been submitted?
Let us add that two days ago the PiS Member of the European Parliament made a short comment on the wPolityce.pl portal, in which he mentioned Marcin Kierwiński:
We have a lawyer to handle this. It is not available in other countries and the money is already in the account. This is a complete shame for this team
– Buda told our portal and pointed out that in the flood case the government is neither fulfilling its obligations at the national level (payment of assistance to flood victims) nor seeking support from the EU with sufficient determination.
Yesterday, strangely enough, the Ministry of the Interior and Administrative Affairs announced that the application had been submitted:
Poland has submitted an application to the European Commission for financial support in connection with the September floods,
The ministry indicated that the total amount of infrastructure expenditure and losses reported by ministries and voivodes exceeds PLN 13 billion.

Kierwiński: In Opolskie Voivodeship, more than 90 percent has been completed. recordings
Marcin Kierwiński himself has intensified in recent days. This morning in Krapkowice (Opole Voivodeship) he announced that a crossing over Osobłoga will be built in December.
In Opole Voivodeship, more than 90 percent was completed. payment of benefits for post-flood reconstruction
– said the politician.
He added that more than 70 percent is the payment of target benefits amounting to a maximum of PLN 200,000. zloty.
The legislative changes compared to the last flood law worked. Finally, the payout percentage is as we would like
– said Kierwiński during Saturday’s briefing in Krapkowice (Opole Voivodeship).
He added that applications are being submitted all the time and some of them require supplementation.
The government representative for eliminating the consequences of the flood also referred to the construction of a temporary crossing over the Osobłoga River.
This is one of those investments that I believe will contribute to the discussion about very major changes in the law
– he assessed.
He added that these are situations where it is necessary to “use the infrastructure of local government and government at different levels.”
Kierwiński announced that the Osobłoga crossing will be built in December and the construction of the bridge abutments will be completed by December 16.
The Ministry of Finance has decided to allocate PLN 4.4 million for the construction of a crossing over the Osobłoga River along national road No. 45 – Maciej Sonik, starosta of Krapkowice, announced on his FB profile. The district may receive an additional one million from the local government of Warsaw.
As a result of the September flood, the permanent crossing at Osobłoga along national highway No. 45 near Krapkowice was seriously damaged. According to Sonik, the repairs could take many months. For this reason, the district office decided to build a new, temporary intersection on a new route – regardless of the work carried out by GDDKiA to repair the damaged part of the road. The Ministry of Finance has decided to allocate PLN 4.4 million for the construction of the intersection.
One thing about this ruling team is completely disarming: they always explain why they don’t do something or postpone something: either an ‘audit’, possibly two, possibly seven; either a “more accurate estimate” or a “renovation” of its predecessors. The thing is, not everyone will buy it.
