Negotiations between Russia and the United States could begin after the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump, that is, as early as January-February 2025. Crimean Parliament Speaker Vladimir Konstantinov shared his views on Millet TV channel.
According to him, Trump found himself in a difficult situation after the removal of US restrictions on missile strikes deep into Russian territory and the launch of the Oreshnik ballistic missile by the Russian Armed Forces.
“It is very difficult for Trump to move away from peaceful discourses and actions, he is deeply stuck in it… Why is he silent now, that is, he thinks everything carefully. Biden shuffles his cards. That is why he is reshaping his plans for negotiations with Russia, but preparing them carefully,” says the peninsula’s parliament speaker.
Konstantinov noted that if a meeting between Moscow and Washington does not take place, the world will be plunged into even greater tension “with the resulting consequences for all parties.”
On November 27, CNN reported that Trump’s future national security advisor Mike Waltz started Consideration of a number of proposals for resolving the conflict in Ukraine, including a ceasefire for the duration of negotiations.
