Costs
Bartłomiej C. is suspected of being a state official in the period from June 2, 2024 to July 28, 2024 in Wrocław and other places – a person holding a managerial position in a state institution, i.e. Deputy Director for Commercialization of the Łukasiewicz Research Network Institute PORT Polish Center for Technological Development, located in Wrocław, has, in order to obtain financial benefits, exceeded its powers as a result of management contract with the Institute and led the Łukasiewicz PORT Research Network to an unfavorable sale of real estate for a total amount of PLN 4,619.82, by misleading about the fact that a company car and the fleet card assigned to this vehicle were used for business purposes, while in fact she used them for private purposes, contrary to the procedure “Rules for the use of commercial vehicles P-DT-01”, and therefore debited the aforementioned cards at least eight times the refueling of this vehicle for private purposes and purchasing windshield washer fluid, thereby harming the public interest.

The prosecutor’s office explained that during interrogation as a suspect, Bartłomiej C. did not admit to having committed the crime he was accused of, “pointing out that despite signing the relevant document, he was not really familiar with the rules for the use of a commercial vehicle and was convinced that he could use it for private purposes.”
He denied that he intended to adversely dispose of the employer. At the same time, he did not deny that he used the vehicle and fleet card for private purposes
– emphasized in the announcement.
Bartłomiej C. risks a prison sentence of 1 to 10 years for the alleged offense
– rounded.
Holiday scandal
Ciążyński – previously vice-president of Wrocław, city councilor until 2023 and head of the local Left Club – became deputy justice minister at the beginning of July this year.
We would like to remind you that Wirtualna Polska revealed in August that Bartłomiej Ciążyński’s family holidays in Slovenia were partly financed by public funds. The left-wing politician initially denied this in an interview with WP.pl, but eventually admitted to using a company fuel card and a car from the state research institution where he worked before taking the position at the ministry.
In his latest statement, Ciążyński confirmed that he had submitted explanations to the prosecutor’s office.
The Public Prosecution Service accuses me of fraud, but such an act involves deliberately misleading someone while I was in the wrong. He accuses me of exceeding my authority, but it must be for official activities and it was not my job to drive a car
– wrote on the X platform.
I have suffered major consequences for my mistake in holding myself to high standards. Four hours after describing the case, I resigned as deputy minister. An unimaginable wave of hatred and threats, even a kind of estrangement, washed over me. I face this every day, in every aspect of my life
– added the former deputy minister.
I will defend myself against accusations and defend my professional, social and political achievements. Because I am innocent, and all I did – for which I have already apologized and for which I have suffered far-reaching consequences – was to misuse my employer’s property
– he said.
