The Green Deal is clearly a threat to the well-being of the Polish state and Polish citizens, said the president of the Institute of National Remembrance, Karol Nawrocki, who is running for president in Września, Wielkopolska. The politician judged that the idea of liquidating the Institute was against Poland’s national interest.
“We must think ambitiously about Polish nuclear energy”
During a meeting with supporters, organized by the local club of ‘Gazeta Polska’, the PiS-backed presidential candidate was asked, among other things: for his assessment of the European Green Deal, i.e. a policy aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the EU. Nawrocki emphasized that he is “not a big supporter of the Green Deal,” but he is a big supporter of “Polish nuclear energy,” because it is – as he assessed – “the most stable and at the same time flexible source of energy.” energy.”
The Green Deal clearly threatens the well-being of the Polish state and Polish citizens. We need to think ambitiously about Polish nuclear energy
– he emphasized. He added that “the powers of the president, reflected in the halls of European diplomacy, must be used to oppose the Green Deal as the whole outline of this ‘eco-craze’.”
When it comes to environmental protection, I am indeed a strong supporter of it, but I am not in favor of the ecological craze that is affecting the functioning of the Polish state.
– said the candidate. He also talked about the “potential of Polish coal and lignite”.
We are in a different situation than Western countries because for many decades the foundations were coal and lignite mines. This must be tailored to the needs and capabilities of the Polish nation
– he said.
Nawrocki was also asked for his assessment of the EU’s agricultural policy. In response, he emphasized that “food security and the fate of the Polish farmer in guaranteeing food security for all of us is one of the most important issues of Polish prosperity.”

EU-Mercosur Agreement
In this context, the politician mentioned a possible free trade agreement between the EU and the Mercosur countries, namely Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia and Uruguay. He spoke out against this agreement, among other things. Polish and French governments. According to Nawrocki, Germany is trying to reach an agreement with South American countries.
They want to push us with food products that are produced there on very different principles than in EU countries. This type of import threatens the security of Polish agriculture
– he pointed out.
He emphasized that he was against signing the EU-Mercosur agreement.
We are Poland and we have Polish responsibilities (…) The well-being of the Polish farmer who feeds us all, the Polish entrepreneur, the Polish worker, the Polish soldier will be my priority
– he said.
He added that “our diplomatic, very important relations and alliances” cannot dominate “the well-being of the citizens of the Polish state.”
KO’s fear of “truth”
When asked why, in his opinion, Civic Coalition politicians wanted to liquidate the Institute of National Remembrance, the Institute’s president said it was due to fear of “the truth, effectiveness and efficiency of action.” He also stressed that the Institute cannot be liquidated or the President of the Institute of National Remembrance dismissed without the consent of the President.
Nawrocki also called the Institute of National Remembrance Poland’s greatest institutional achievement after 1989.
The desire to liquidate the Institute is against Poland’s national interest
– he noted.
