Chairman of the Sejm, presidential candidate Szymon Hołownia, stated that Radosław Sikorski’s attitude in the primaries in the Civic Coalition made a great impression on him. “He is a combative, courageous and competent politician,” said the leader of Poland 2050.
Hołownia spoke positively twice in Rypin about Sikorski, who is competing with Rafał Trzaskowski for the nomination as a KO candidate in the presidential elections. The results of Friday’s primaries will be known Saturday afternoon.
Hołownia’s rival candidates
I was extremely impressed with Sikorski’s attitude during these primaries. He is a courageous, brave and competent politician, of a very high standard. He impressed me with his courage, but I’m not a member of KO, so I’m not going to vote
– said Hołownia.
He also referred to PiS’s possible candidate, namely the head of the Institute of National Remembrance, Karol Nawrocki.
We know little about him and we don’t know if he will be able to present himself well to all of us. Whoever Jarosław Kaczyński’s candidate is, I will be happy to meet him. Whoever Donald Tusk’s candidate is, I’ll be happy to meet him. I am truly convinced that Poland needs an independent candidate, independent of the duopoly. Stabilization of the situation in Poland. Someone who can freely listen to the citizens, not to his superior
– said Hołownia.
Clash with voters
During the meeting, an altercation took place between Hołownia and two dissatisfied residents – most likely farmers. They accused Hołownia of saying that “the December 13 coalition was not concerned about Poland”.
Everything is sold, big companies go bankrupt
– they said. They also returned to the spring farmers’ protest, accusing the Sejm chairman of inaction and the police of provocations and beating farmers.
Hołownia tried to talk to the men, exchange arguments, ask for details about the failing companies, and finally wanted to shake their hands because he believed that they wished Poland well. However, the men refused.
During the meeting in Rypin, the Marshal of the Sejm also assured that no social programs would be eliminated. He argued that it is necessary to increase budget revenues by encouraging investment.
Without a strong and well-functioning economy there will be no money to buy tanks
– he pointed.
