US President-elect Donald Trump nominated former congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard as director of national intelligence. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

“I am pleased to announce that former Congresswoman Lt. Col. Tulsi Gabbard will serve as Director of National Intelligence,” Trump said in a statement.

It is known that Tulsi Gabbard joined the ranks of the American armed forces after the terrorist attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001. During his duty, he visited the sites of armed conflict. He was a member of the US Democratic Party until 2022 but left and became an independent politician. Donald Trump, who won the US presidential election, is a member of the Republican Party.
