“Poland’s pride in Poland, in Polish history. No frustration, no hatred or hostility,” said Elżbieta Rafalska on Telewizja wPolsce24. The former Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy responded in this way to Wojciech Mann’s actions on TVN, in which the famous journalist attacked the participants of the Independence March.
Elżbieta Rafalska herself took part in the Independence March. When asked if she saw fascists there, she replied:
I didn’t see any fascists. The march was extremely peaceful. There was a friendly and patriotic atmosphere. There were no incidents. I saw young people, elderly people, children, large families with strollers. It was a wonderful testament to Poland’s patriotism. There were not only people from all over the country, but also representatives of the American-Polish community, Poles from Belgium, from Great Britain, from all over the world.
She then referred to the words of Mann, who said on TVN:
The thoughtlessness of people who vent it makes me furious… I don’t know why. Some of your complexes? Frustrations? Hatred towards others?
Mann at the Independence March?
According to Rafalska, Mann should go to the Independence March himself.
Maybe Wojciech Mann should go to such a march to see who comes and what the atmosphere is like? Completely incorrect assessment. What frustration? Poland’s pride in Poland, in Polish history. No frustration, no hatred or hostility. Although we encountered situations of provocation
– she said.
When Elżbieta Rafalska was asked about the high turnout at this year’s demonstration, she drew attention to Rafał Trzaskowski’s actions.
President Trzaskowski probably has a hand in this. When the Poles heard that there would be no march this year, that it would be banned, I heard many voices at home – in Lubusz Voivodeship –: there will be no march, but we will be in Warsaw, we will demonstrate, we will show our presence. You can’t boss the Poles like that
– she said on Telewizja wPolsce24.
