“As I have just been asked, I would like to convey to all my fellow countrymen the best wishes of the newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump. I literally just had a conversation with the president. He called to express his wishes on our Independence Day,” President Andrzej Duda said at a press conference before his departure to Azerbaijan for the COP29 climate summit.
President Trump also asked to thank Poles for their support, especially Poles who live in the US and voted in the elections. He said he knows the vast majority of the Polish community voted for him and said he is extremely grateful for it and will remember Poland. He promises us that he will always remember Poland in the best sense of the word

In the conversation with the President, we agreed that we would meet before he officially takes office, that is, before his swearing-in, which will take place in January.

Andrzej Duda said he had agreed to discuss security issues and economic cooperation between Poland and the US with President Trump, and that the presidents would also discuss the situation in Ukraine.

I had the pleasure of speaking to President @realDonaldTrump on the phone this evening to congratulate him on his historic comeback and decisive victory in the presidential election. President Trump extended his best wishes to the Polish nation on the occasion of National Independence Day! We have also agreed that our US meeting will take place in the coming weeks.
Climate summit
Andrzej Duda also spoke about the COP29 climate summit.
We will discuss climate protection and the solutions that should be implemented in the future in connection with this extremely important issue, as well as the development of modern technologies. One of the topics will be the use of hydrogen for environmental protection and obtaining green energy

This also includes my bilateral meeting with the host of the summit, the President of Azerbaijan, with whom we have good relations.
