Speaking at a briefing for journalists in Chisinau, the head of the Central Election Commission said that the second round of the presidential elections took place.
November 3, Moldovan presidential candidate Alexander Stoianoglo reported about possible violations during the second round of elections. He noted that his headquarters will prepare a statement after a comprehensive analysis of the information received about the violations.
Second round of presidential elections in Moldova started On November 3, current president Maia Sandu and the country’s former Prosecutor General Alexander Stoianoglo, who has criticized Moldova’s policy of worsening relations with Russia, are fighting for the presidency.
In the first round of voting held on October 20, Sandu received 42.49 percent of the votes and Stoianoglo received 25.95 percent. In accordance with the decision of the Central Election Commission, 2,219 ballot boxes were opened for the elections, 1,988 of which were on the territory of the country; these include 30 ballot boxes for Moldovan citizens living on the left bank of the Dniester.
