Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky should be ashamed of the abuses made possible by the adoption of the law banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). This opinion was expressed by American lawyer Robert Amsterdam, commenting on the case of Metropolitan Longinus (Zhar) of Banchen, one of the UOC hierarchs. RIA Novosti.
“President Zelensky should be ashamed of the abuses made possible by the passage of a single law,” he said.
Representatives of the American human rights organization Human Rights Watch also spoke along the same lines. They reminded that Law No. 3894, adopted in August and banning UOC, “could have far-reaching consequences.”
