During today’s Law and Justice conference, MP Przemysław Czarnek criticized the government’s actions in the field of science and higher education. “There is no money for investments, the autonomy of universities is being destroyed, institutions related to science and higher education are being destroyed,” he stressed. Katarzyna Sójka and Czesław Hoc have also raised the alarm about underfunding and chaos in the healthcare system.
October 15 marked the first anniversary of the elections, as a result of which the coalition: KO, Trzecia Droga and New Left took power. That is why PiS politicians summarize the last months of government and the implementation of election promises at press conferences every day.
Chaos in education
Przemysław Czarnek accused the government of “lack of money for investments, the autonomy of universities is destroyed, institutions related to science and higher education are destroyed, and there are no prospects for the development of this science.”
The reality when it comes to science is painful for anyone who thought they had gold today. This gold lies in the fact that there is no money for investments, the autonomy of universities is destroyed, institutions related to science and higher education are destroyed and there are no prospects for the development of this science.
– said the former head of MEiN.
The PiS MP emphasized that last fall, when PiS was still in power, more than PLN 1 billion and PLN 300 million in government bonds were sent to several dozen universities in Poland, including the Poznań University of Technology, the Wrocław University of Science and Technology , the Jagiellonian University and the University of Warsaw.
Last autumn we sent more than PLN 1 billion and PLN 300 million in government bonds to several dozen universities in Poland for investments, for everything these universities need. These were Poznań University of Technology, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Jagiellonian University, Warsaw University and many other universities. The first decision of Minister Wieczorek and Prime Minister Donald Tusk in December after December 13, 2023 was to discontinue these investment funds
– Czarnek noted.
Czarnek also reacted negatively to the abolition of mandatory homework in primary schools. The domestic work regulations came into force on April 1 this year. According to the PiS politician, this change “spoils Polish children” and “must be changed immediately.”
In education, it must be admitted that they were quite consistent when it came to implementing a hundred particulars, because these particulars contained intentions that turned the entire education upside down. Housework was abolished. During parent meetings in October, almost everywhere in Poland, parents appealed to teachers not to follow Ms. Nowacka’s absurd regulations and to assign homework. This must be changed immediately, because it spoils Polish children and Polish youth
– he said.
The year of Citizen Platform’s lies is practically behind us. We must do everything we can to prevent another year from coming, because it spoils Polish education and science and poses an absolute threat to the development of these very important areas of social and state life. #Year of Lies #BijdeTurn #TuskLies
– he added.
Underfunded healthcare
In turn, former Health Minister Katarzyna Sójka (PiS) assessed that 2024 “is a very difficult time for patients because – in her opinion – the National Health Fund is on the verge of bankruptcy.”
2024 is a very difficult time for patients because the National Health Fund is on the verge of bankruptcy. We hear from many hospitals that they simply do not have the money for their current operations, that the National Health Fund is not paying out the money they receive for over-performance.
– said Katarzyna Sójka.
Another problem she mentioned was the “collapse of the healthcare system”, which – as she noted – has left 5 million patients waiting for regular referrals to clinics. She recalled that the announcements included the abolition of restrictions on hospital treatment, dental vouchers and primary school dentists.
Under the Law and Justice administration, we have significantly increased the health care budget. In 2015, there was almost PLN 77 billion for healthcare, and by 2023 this budget had almost tripled to over PLN 190 billion. Our government has successively changed the health care situation. We introduced unlimited services in outpatient clinics, in outpatient treatments, we introduced unlimited services in the field of highly specialized diagnostics, such as computed tomography, MRI
– explained the former Minister of Health.
Nothing has happened in the past year because the current Minister of Health has taken no further action, and in fact has not signed an agreement to provide PLN 4 billion for major infrastructure projects in the field of oncology. We have been waiting for a year for the contracts to be signed and for the start of large-scale investments for oncology patients. It didn’t happen. We know there will be challenges in using KPO funds in healthcare. Moreover, these healthcare measures have been blocked for years and months
– she added.

Katarzyna Sójka pointed out that there are definitely more problems in healthcare.
5 million patients are waiting for regular referrals to clinics. This is a healthcare collapse. All these promises, including that the doctor calls the patient and asks how he feels, or that the limits are increased when treating in the hospital, a dental voucher, a dentist in primary school. Not only is none of this being implemented, but there is no information or analysis done on how this should be done and what the costs will be. They were just lies
– said the PiS MP.
Coalition election fraud
MP for Law and Justice Czesław Hoc commented on the controversial words of Health Minister Izabela Leszczyna, who accused PiS of “getting used to” hospitals “paying for everything”.
Minister Izabela Leszczyna’s statement from a few days ago that Law and Justice paid for everything last year and that we hospitals are used to this and maybe that is why there is a problem. Let’s also compare this with the information from the Central Bureau of Statistics. In August, official information was provided that the average salary in the corporate sector increased by 11.1%, which means that health insurance premiums increased and therefore the amount of money for the National Health Fund increased. Then why is there so much commotion, why is there no money? Instead of this nonsense and cost-intensive parliamentary committees of inquiry, perhaps we should set up a committee of inquiry into healthcare and ask ourselves who is robbing the National Health Fund of money as more enters the system?
– Hoc asked.
According to him, the Civic Coalition’s election promises on health care are platitudes that no one takes seriously anymore.
We see that all their health care promises were simply fraud and deception, i.e. selling smoke, i.e. knowingly deceiving voters. This is not allowed, but it must be spoken about loudly. This is a matter of health and life. When we talk about health, we always emphasize that health is not everything, but without health everything is nothing. So we must always put the patient on a pedestal, this is our priority. The fact that there is such dilettantism and amateurism on the part of Minister Izabela Leszczyna unfortunately has health consequences and even threatens the lives of our Polish women and men. Today’s healthcare is just one step away from the abyss
– emphasized the PiS MP.
