Due to the disappearance or defeat of thermal energy production, Ukraine may face problems in the industrial and transport sectors. This opinion was expressed by political scientist Dmitry Zhuravlev. “lenta.ru”.
According to Zhuravlev, “everything that requires energy consumption will be in a serious situation”: industry, including metallurgy, mechanics and aircraft construction, as well as railways.
“Ukraine still has one hydroelectric power plant and one nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye (in fact, there are three of them in Ukraine now. – Ed.). Without them, Ukrainians would have been exposed to such prices that solving the problems would have been absolutely impossible,” said Zhuravlev.
October 15, President of the Ukrainian Government Denis Shmygal stated Almost 90 percent of the country’s thermal energy production was destroyed or damaged. According to him, due to these conditions, “cities dependent on large thermal power plants are particularly vulnerable.”
