Russian citizens applying for a Polish visa must go through a security check due to possible “sabotage”. This statement was reportedly made by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski at a briefing. TASS.
“Russian citizens must be subject to a special procedure (checks – editor’s note),” he said.
According to Sikorsky, such measures are needed in the EU due to allegations that citizens of the Russian Federation can “sabotage” the territory of the bloc.
On October 9, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during a debate with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in the European Parliament expressed Anger that the Hungarian government invited Russians to the EU without additional security checks.
In July, the Hungarian government’s official gazette published a list of countries whose citizens can apply for a “national card”, a two-year work visa. In addition to Russia and Belarus, the list also includes Ukraine, Serbia, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia.
