The issue of the forest moratorium returns, in the context of which approximately 90 percent of forest rangers expressed their opposition to the plans of the Ministry of Climate and Environment during social consultations. Today, Deputy Minister Dorożała thundered in a parliamentary committee that the solutions of the Ministry of Culture and Economy had been criticized for political reasons. “Minister Mikołaj Dorożała thus categorically denies that the group of people participating in consultations on the moratorium in this case is very unanimous,” Paweł Sałek, former Deputy Environment Minister, PiS MP, wrote about X.
During the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Mikołaj Dorożała spoke about the results of public consultations commissioned by the Ministry of Climate and Environment and carried out by the State Forests, to remove certain areas from sustainable forest management.

Bizarre accusations
The deputy head of the Ministry of Environmental Protection naturally complained about the results of social consultations, in which foresters collectively opposed the changes proposed by his ministry. A politician from Szymon Hołownia’s party even stated that it was a ‘denial of the idea of consultation’.
We were dealing with a denial of the idea of consultation. The other side has also raised this issue several times and said that we cannot deal with the systematic sending of comments, that some organizations sponsored by German money send comments, etc., but if you do it the other way around, that is No problem. You can see how it was managed. There are hundreds, thousands of identical sounding emails and identical sounding applications. It was coordinated and monitored and has nothing to do with public consultations, which should answer the specific question posed in this detailed letter of 11 November.
– Dorożała thundered at the committee.
This consultation was necessary because it showed us the extent of the manipulation we were dealing with. How should we actually talk today in Poland about an issue that concerns social dialogue, that is, we want to involve local communities, if you use it for your political purposes?
– added the angry deputy minister.
Democracy hurts…
Mikołaj Dorożała complained that the opposition would have pushed experts and public opinion to oppose the forest moratorium. He accused PiS of doing this for political purposes.
It was not a referendum. We had to help specific entrepreneurs, and you didn’t care about these entrepreneurs and did everything you could to earn some political capital by telling stories that somehow we wanted to finish the Polish forests, privatize them, sell them to the Germans, and so on . wasn’t about that.
– he pointed out.
Paweł Sałek, a PiS MP and former deputy environment minister, commented on social media about Dorożała’s bizarre tirade in the parliamentary committee on environmental protection, natural resources and forestry.
He noted that the deputy head of the Ministry of Environmental Protection denied that the government’s proposals may not be well received by everyone.
Denial of the idea of consultation? Identical sounding conclusions? Minister @DorozalaMikolaj therefore categorically denies that the group of people participating in the consultation on the moratorium in this case is very unanimous. I encourage you to watch this short recording and draw your own reflections
– wrote Paweł Sałek on X.
Donald Tusk’s controversial words clearly become a source of inspiration for members of his government, because Mikołaj Dorożała, to paraphrase the Prime Minister’s words, applies the democratic rules as he understands them.
