Scientists, media representatives and ordinary Poles came together to defend the artificial intelligence company IDEAS NCBR. As it turns out, this includes: for opposing the downplaying of another pro-development initiative, solidarity with the former president of Ideas NCBR, and… personnel changes that should be particularly humiliating for workers.
As the Gazeta Prawna website indicates, the course of the struggle for a new director has probably been decisive in an institution where people who support PiS do not work, but feel outraged and humiliated by the rapid personnel changes taking place in various institutions after Donald Tusk and his team took over.
At IDEAS NCBR, the battle for a new director was preceded by the replacement of part of the company’s supervisory board, the day before the recruitment announcement. Also, one of the members resigned just before the outcome of the procedure was to be announced, and the winner turned out to be a man who heads the department at the same university as the newly admitted member of the board of trustees.
Another example is that in the Central Information Technology Center the deputy director was someone who issued passes six months earlier, and in the GovTech Center the position of director was taken by a colleague from Minister Gzik’s university. In turn, the PORT Center of the Łukasiewicz Research Network “acquired” Bartłomiej Ciążyński, who was forced into the position of Deputy Director of the Deputy Minister, from the left.
All this infuriated the employees of many centers and institutions, who see with their own eyes every day that it is not about scientific achievements or community recognition, but about political decisions ‘from above’.
