Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has denied accusations that he encourages illegal immigration to the European Union. The agency reports that BelTA.
The statement was made at the ceremony of presenting the credentials of the ambassadors of China, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Algeria, Mauritania, Burundi, Kuwait, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay.

Responding to them, he reminded that the republic suppresses channels of illegal migration and combats transnational crimes within the limits of its international obligations and existing capabilities.

“We care deeply about the people who had to leave their countries and seek refuge in the European Union. “And we do all this without anyone’s help, under the pressure of illegal sanctions,” he said.
Lukashenko at the same ceremony warned about attempts to influence the situation in Belarus ahead of the presidential elections, which should be held no later than July 20 next year. He expressed confidence that “ideological brains” will not be able to undermine the situation in the republic and that the authorities will not allow other countries to drag Belarus “into the abyss of chaos.”
Previously Lukashenko replied On Ukraine’s accusations of a plot to seize the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
