“Years ago, there were attempts to create a basis on which every monkey hanging from a tree could be called an ecologist. I do not agree with this. I think it is unprofessional and unworthy,” Dr. Grzegorz Chocian, president of the ECOPROBONO Constructive Ecology Foundation, told the wPolityce.pl portal.
Dr. Grzegorz Chocian often talks to the wPolityce.pl portal and wPolsce24 television about the threats posed by a misunderstood “ecology”. He also repeatedly pointed out that issues related to nature, environmental protection and climate are an easy playing field for foreign services.
A ‘cop’ is not a man in a long coat and dark glasses
Statement of Dr. Chociana caused a real storm in an interview with Polsat News and the expert received both positive and negative comments, bordering on hate. The wPolityce.pl portal contacted the President of the ECOPROBONO Constructive Ecology Foundation and asked for his reaction to the sudden increase in interest in the fact that ecology is a game played by the services.
Because it’s true. What can I do about it? Big companies are also active here, because they are often business intelligence agencies. This is actually related
– say Dr. Grzegorz Chocian.
We associate “The Spy” with a man in a long coat and black glasses, and next to him – a businessman with a white collar, and these are two separate zones. And it is completely different
– points out.
This businessman can also have certain intentions and skills, he can be a sponsor of protesting organizations and achieve business goals, even huge business goals. It has happened so often that I am actually surprised that the public is as surprised as if they were seeing a Yeti. Many reactions are: “Finally. We knew something was wrong. We felt something was wrong.”
– says the interviewee from wPolityce.pl.
It was in Poland that the most projects in the entire EU were protested
Dr. Chocian also presents a very interesting case.
I would like to remind you that in Poland, after joining the European Union, until about 2013, although later research shows that also until 2015, the largest number of projects in the whole European Union were protested. There were moments during this period that were more than in all other countries combined
– assesses.
This means that we are dealing with a pathology, and this pathology is the result of something. On the one hand, it can come from imperfections in the law, and on the other hand, it can come from the fact that certain organizations simply have a task. And that’s it. It is a brutal business of companies, but also of well-organized states against naive states and societies. And if someone tries to make fun of it, that means that he or she is naive or too stubborn
– the expert adds.
We have non-disclosure agreements with entities we worked for that were clearly hacked by hired organizations. And how do we know this? Because these companies could afford detective agencies. And that’s what it’s all about. It’s fun to sweep a problem under the carpet, and then everyone laughs: “Gosh, how can you even say that?!” How can an expert say that. Services from the West? It’s impossible, because only Moscow has services? I have the opposite opinion. We need to talk about it. And on the other hand: how can you create legal provisions that take away the elementary rules of social coexistence in the form of responsibility from protesters? This must be stopped. I hope that as social consciousness grows, we will stop labeling as an “environmentalist” someone who criticizes himself and sticks himself to the highway.
– emphasizes the president of the ECOPROBONO Constructive Ecology Foundation.
Is an ‘environmentalist’ someone who chains himself to the roads?
I also published several entries on my profile on the X platform with the attachment “National Professional Competence Standard”, in which we can read who can be considered an ecologist. Mr. Szumlewicz tried to laugh at me and asked: “Which diploma confirms that I am an ecologist”? An environmental biologist is an ecologist. The ‘National Standard of Professional Competence’ clearly defines who is an ecologist and who may be called an ecologist. Certainly not a political scientist
– he adds.
It is worth noting that even in the leadership of the Ministry of Climate and Environment, few people have received any scientific education.
The National Register of Professional Competencies is a regular publication of the Ministry of Labor and I am a co-author of this study. And there they tried to label activists as ‘ecologists’. I pointed out to the team: “Excuse me, what is your profession and education: activist?” And so the message was deleted. Later attempts were made to make notes with regard to the social sciences, e.g. Then I ask: “Since when does a political scientist know anything about the functioning of the natural ecosystem?” Already more than fifteen years ago there were attempts to create a basis on which every – pardonably – monkey hanging from a tree could formally be called an ecologist.
– points to Dr. Chocian.
I disagree. I find it unprofessional and undignified. An interesting discovery for me is that there was a storm around this topic and people said, “It’s great that this is finally being said.” But they still don’t quite understand what it’s all about. It’s about a ruthless market game where environmental resources are used as hostages to the dispute and to the services of both states and companies, which can even act better than states in terms of economic intelligence.
– summarizes the interlocutor from wPolityce.pl.
