A court in Venezuela has issued an arrest warrant for Argentine President Javier Miley in connection with the seizure of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s plane. This was reported by TASS Referring to the Supreme Court of the country.
“The Caracas Criminal Court of First Instance, regarding the request made by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on September 18, requesting a preventive measure to restrict freedom in relation to the investigation carried out against citizen Javier Miley, <...> “The Supreme Court decided to accept the request,” he said.
On September 19, Venezuelan Attorney General Tarek William Saab announced that the department he heads had requested arrest warrants for Miley, her sister and the Secretary General of the Presidential Office, Karina Miley, and Argentine Security Minister Patricia Bullrich. The suspects are charged with aggravated theft over the seizure of the Venezuelan plane.
