Hundreds of Oława residents, supported by WOT soldiers, are working to raise and strengthen the embankments. The water gauge under the bridge at ul. Chrobry shows 7.4 m; in the morning it was 10 cm lower. Residents say they will defend the city.
The bridge over the Oder in Oława at the intersection of Chrobry and Rybacka leads to Jelcz-Laskowice. Behind the bridge towards Jelcz is the Zaodrze district with Nadbrzeżna Street stretching along the Oder River. The embankments there are covered with sandbags. There are many of them.
The residents of Zaodrze have been at work for the third day.

The struggle of the residents
On Wednesday afternoon, four other women and a child were lying by her sandbags. Every now and then a car passes by with men loading ready-made bags. They take them to the dike, a few hundred meters away.

PAP was also located in the Zwierzyńce district of Oława. This is a special place. The district of single-family houses and small tenements is located between the main riverbed of the Oder and the Mill Canal. Water from this canal flooded the street by the river. Residents also work there. Sandbag barriers were placed.
The work is coordinated by entrepreneur Robert Jaśnikowski. He describes the situation and says that there is a “backflow” on the Molenkanaal. It shows where water flows in the opposite direction of the current.
