The left wing strives for more and more power every day. It can be seen and heard. True, recently it should be added. And more importantly, in the case of a slice of power, it promises the proverbial “golden mountains”, which will result from the implementation of age-old leftist visions. Just a few months ago, the New Left’s co-chair – although I still see it as former commissioners led by second co-chair Włodzimierz Czarzasty – Robert Biedroń rejected Donald Tusk’s idea behind which was a proposal – and a possible chance – a small, to be fair, participation in power after the next parliamentary election.
As is well known, Donald Tusk’s proposal – which is still favored – is to establish a common list of opposition parties. In his opinion, the electoral alliance will increase the possibility of beating PiS in the elections. Referring to the results of this year’s elections in Hungary, Robert Biedroń argued that the common list does not guarantee victory.
Weaknesses in the lists
Earlier I said that this participation in power would be small, because I did not want to say residual. It’s pretty obvious for what reasons. Why. If the “Tusk variant” were to succeed, the majority of left-wing candidates would appear on the electoral lists. With little chance of entering the Sejm, which would later be evidenced by the formation of a coalition government. Now, however, the rush for power is sending left-wing leaders the real outlook for the pitfalls commonly encountered in joint list-making, and the end results.
A few weeks ago, Krzysztof Gawkowski made a rather bold announcement, taking it almost as a certainty that the left will rule in Poland after the election. And that is only understandable in one way. His political formation will be part of the coalition government led by the Civic Platform, which stands behind the official flag of the Civic Coalition. Today it is known, as confirmed by Włodzimierz Czarzasty, that the left is open to any variant, including one list of opposition parties.
The leaders justify the need for the left to co-govern over “redemptive plans,” which will be guaranteed if it becomes part of government. And so Krzysztof Gawkowski emphasizes the “dignity program of the left”. The premise of this program is the need to “tax the Catholic Church, liquidate the financing of the church fund and spend this money on raising salaries in the so-called budgetary”.
Włodzimierz Czarzasty in turn became an outstanding expert in the fight against inflation. –
Inflation has many factors. I believe that half of inflation in Poland is caused by external factors – war, fuel prices; and the other half, I believe, is the fault of the Polish Government.
The left wants to join the government to “make sure Poland is run in such a way that people just don’t pay such prices” (implicitly: like now) – he justified his determination to join Czarzasty’s rule.
I cannot hide that when I listened to both leaders of the New Left, I was really moved.
