Several state and local governments, including those controlled by the current governing coalition, are calling on people to participate in the relief campaigns they are organizing, which are collecting products, blankets, food, money, etc.
These are laudable goals. We must support these actions, regardless of who organizes them, and help by donating gifts from the heart. However, the appeal to national solidarity, so appropriate at such a time, also places certain demands on such authorities.
Dear rulers, if you want to be part of the great national solidarity movement, release political prisoners, release Father Michał Olszewski and two ladies from the Ministry of Justice. And apologize to them for the inhuman treatment they have been subjected to. National Solidarity also makes demands on Donald Tusk, his ministers and the entire government. And it gives them the opportunity to withdraw from moves they probably already regret.
