Russian Ambassador to Ottawa Oleg Stepanov is not surprised that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau supports the idea of lifting the ban on attacking Russia with Western long-range weapons. RIA Novosti.
The diplomat noted that the Canadian politician’s position was not surprising: the Russian side had already heard similar statements.
“Prime Minister Trudeau and his government have taken the most aggressive stance against Russia in the context of the special operation from the very beginning, while recklessly supporting the Kiev regime,” Stepanov said.
According to the ambassador, Canada’s position reflects the nature of its foreign policy, which consists of anticipating the intentions of its “mentors” (the United States and the United Kingdom).
On the eve of Trudeau reportedOttawa fully supports Kiev “in using long-range weapons to prevent and hinder Russia’s ability to further destroy Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.” As the politician put it, Canada sees the measure as a way to protect Ukraine’s civilian population, which Kiev “must win” in a military conflict with Moscow.
Former Ambassador I appreciated the opportunity Biden approves US military incursion deep into Russia.
