US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Washington had imposed sanctions on three organisations and two individuals over their alleged involvement in RT’s interference operations. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
Blinken said the sanctions were imposed because of “Russia’s covert global influence operations, including interference in democracy and the upcoming elections in Moldova.”
Later, the US Treasury announced sanctions measures against the Rossiya Segodnya media group, ANO TV-Novosti, NPO Eurasia and journalist Dmitry Kiselev.
