It is perfectly understandable that MEP Marta Wcisło is grateful to Prime Minister Donald Tusk for changing ul. Wiejska in Warsaw to Strasbourg and Brussels. But is this gratitude not too much? A surprising recording appeared online, showing Wcisło bowing to the head of government in the parliamentary corridor.
During the PO-PSL government in 2007-2015, a memorable photo of Ewa Kopacz bowing to Donald Tusk in the plenary hall of the Sejm became a meme. The prime minister looks displeased, Kopacz looks remorseful.
Formerly Kopacz, today Wcisło
History repeats itself, as a video featuring Marta Wcisło, currently Kopacz’s colleague from the European Parliament benches, has surfaced online. MEP Wcisło’s bow to the prime minister in the parliamentary corridor even made the SOP officials laugh. The KO politician walks through the corridor accompanied by, among others, Deputy Minister Jacek Karnowski, bows and says “Good morning” with a smile as he watches Tusk leave the Sejm (ignoring journalists). You can’t hear what the prime minister replied, but you can see the SOP officials looking at each other and chatting in obvious amusement.
MEP Marta Wcisło is the winner of the contest “Best bow for a fighting democrat”. This is the first such contest in Smiling Poland. The previous winner was Ewa Kopacz with her famous tribute. Not only Tusk, but also SOP is mad at you XD
A tribute to Marta Wcisło 🙃
– said MP Marcin Romanowski.
Could this not just be an exaggerated expression of gratitude, but an instruction to ‘repentant’ judges who decide to express ‘active regret’ – as some opposition MPs suggest:
Ladies and gentlemen, we now know how judges should bow to Tusk and Bodnar. Just like MEP Marta Wcisło, only her head is closer to the ground and her eyes are focused on the ground.
The comments also include suggestions for a new nickname for the MEP.
Marta “Gibka” Wcisło
Does Tusk’s behavior toward women constitute ‘machismo’ or ‘toxic masculinity’?
It is worth recalling other, similar situations in which Prime Minister Donald Tusk displayed an attitude probably consistent with what left-wing circles call “machismo” or “toxic masculinity”:
Previous winner: But seriously, it’s truly amazing how Tusk lets these women degrade him – he just loves it.
Prime Minister Tusk is such a ‘tough guy’ that he would even snatch the phone out of the hand of a militant feminist like Minister Nowacka!
Barbara Nowacka was of course also a candidate in the competition for the greatest humiliation of a woman by Tusk. A question for outstanding Kaczists, but also for Tuskologists – professors Professor Penguin and Jan Zelig – what is the reason for Tusk’s attitude towards women?
When will one of the KO MPs next passionately support the “women’s rights” (which according to the majority of the December 13 coalition amounts to the right to kill unborn children, as rumor has it even on the Active Party) Parental Program (i.e. the so-called ‘a large proportion of young mothers who want to remain professionally active may lose’), perhaps they need to be reminded of these three charming scenes?
