The proposals of the commission for the reform of the political system gave me goosebumps, stressed the chair of the National Council of the Judiciary, Dagmara Pawełczyk-Woicka, during the protest of the Association “Lawyers for Poland” against the solutions announced by the Ministry of Justice in connection with the attack on the current National Council of the Judiciary. “We will not sign loyalty agreements with the Minister of Justice,” the organizers said firmly.
The proposals of the Commission for the Reform of the Political System, appointed by the Prime Minister at the request of the Minister of Justice, gave me goosebumps.
– she said outside the headquarters of the National Council for the Judiciary.
Pawełczyk-Woicka pointed out that judges are expected to be self-critical – “we cannot allow that. The Constitution says in Article 30 that the source of all civil rights is the inalienable dignity of man – they want to deprive judges of this dignity,” she noted.
The protesters are opposing the assumptions of the solutions regarding the status of judges appointed after 2018, which were presented on Friday by Justice Minister Adam Bodnar and Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
The protesters carried, among other things: banners with the inscriptions “Wall for Judge Radzik”, “Wall for Judge Schab” or “Wall for Judge Manowska”. Zbigniew Łupina, a member of the National Council of the Judiciary who spoke at the protest, described self-criticism as an attitude reminiscent of the Stalinist era.
The protest of steadfast judges against the violation of the rule of law continues. We will not make loyalty agreements with the Minister of Justice
– it was reported on the ‘Lawyers for Poland’ profile.
All citizens who came today to protect the rights of the Republic of Poland at the headquarters of @KRS_RP deserve recognition and thanks! Also to lawyers of @PrawnicydlaPOL, judges of @sedziowierp, prosecutors of @StAdVocem! The law is one and everyone is equal before it! There are no better or worse jurors! Self-criticism by judges is not allowed! There is no permission for prosecution proceedings against the first President of @SN_RP_ and the judges of @KRS_RP! No one can be punished for an act that did not constitute a crime at the time it was committed! Human dignity is inalienable and the rights and freedoms protected by the Constitution of the Republic of Poland flow from it
– the President of the National Council for the Judiciary stressed in her role after the event.
