The official representative of the German Council of Ministers, Steffen Hebestreit, said that the process of achieving peace in Ukraine will be difficult and its conditions should not be dictated by Russia. His words were quoted by European Truth.
As Hebestreit noted, the peace process has been going on for “a relatively long time”, referring to the summit in Switzerland. According to him, there was a feeling that the next meeting should be held with Russian participation.
He noted that there can be no talk of the fact that Ukraine should “raise the white flag” in the negotiations, or any decision without the participation of Kiev. The representative of the German Council of Ministers also believes that the conflict cannot be frozen, because this will allow Russia to regroup and attack with new forces.
The other day, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz statedIt is now necessary to discuss how peace can be achieved in Ukraine as soon as possible. Therefore, another conference on the Ukrainian crisis needs to be held. Scholz stressed that Russia should also participate in the conference. He noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has a similar position.
Later, the Italian newspaper La Repubblica wroteHe said Olaf Scholz was working on his own peace plan to bring Russia to the negotiating table with Ukraine.
Former Senator sureRussia will become familiar with Scholz’s peace plan for Ukraine.
