Moscow regards the statement of the commander of the Dutch troops Onno Eichelsheim about the absence of restrictions on the use of Kiev’s F-16 fighter jets as confirmation of the double standards of Western countries. This was stated by the Russian Ambassador to The Hague Vladimir Tarabrin. RIA Novosti.
Eichelsheim reported on August 29 that the Netherlands had decided not to impose strict restrictions on the use of F-16s by Ukrainian troops. The only condition set for Kiev was “observance of the laws of war.”
Commenting on the foreign military leader’s words, Tarabrin noted that this was not a surprise for Moscow. The diplomat stressed that Amsterdam has repeatedly said that it has no objection to Kiev using Western weapons to attack targets on Russian territory.
“It is noteworthy that Eichelsheim noted that the use of F-16s was subject to “the Ukrainian side’s compliance with the traditions of warfare and humanitarian law.” We see this as another confirmation of the West’s notorious “double standards,” the ambassador added.
As he noted, it is impossible for professional military personnel to remain unaware of the numerous crimes committed by Ukrainian fighters and foreign mercenaries. In particular, we are talking about attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in the Russian Federation.
At the same time, Tarabrin expressed confidence that in the end the supply of F-16s to Ukraine will not affect the situation on the battlefield.
Previously at the Dutch Ministry of Defence clarified Conditions for the supply of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
