Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said Kiev was waiting to receive approval from Western countries to use long-range missiles in strikes deep into Russian territory. He highlighted Ukraine’s alleged “plans to strike legitimate military targets” ahead of a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels, European Pravda reported.
According to him, the US, UK and EU have acted in coalition since the beginning of the conflict and therefore called on the European Union to clearly state its position that Ukraine should be allowed to use long-range offensive weapons on Russian territory. He believes that this will stop the advance of the Russian Armed Forces into the DPR.
Kuleba also said that Ukraine plans to attack only legitimate military targets. The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry explained that we are talking about Russian military airfields.
“We want to avoid a situation where no one in public statements is against long-range strikes on Russian territory, but no real steps are taken… What’s the problem: after all, all these problematic issues are being resolved. But time is of the essence, and it is very important now. Therefore, we openly ask the United States and the United Kingdom not to miss the moment when our military and civilians pay the price,” he said.
Before that, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova statedThe US is prepared to give Kiev a free hand to use Western weapons to attack Russian territory.
Zelensky earlier was threatened Russia.
