““To be honest, I am amused by this ecstasy of our media, the current public media, and also the media that supports the current coalition, especially TVN,” said Marek Sawicki, MP from the Polish People’s Party, on Polish Radio’s program 1. The politician was thus commenting on the media’s pressure on members of the National Electoral Commission.
Marek Sawicki frankly admitted that there is an ongoing media attack aimed at pressuring the National Election Commission to withdraw PiS’s electoral funding. The politician did not hide that the public media belongs to the ruling coalition.
To be honest, I am amused by this ecstasy of our media, the public media of today, and also the media that support the current coalition, especially TVN. For weeks everyone has been worrying about how Law and Justice will simply stop functioning if the subsidies are withdrawn.
– he said.
Pressure on the National Electoral Commission
The PSL MP admitted that in his opinion this was a deliberate action by the media supporting the ruling coalition to put pressure on the National Electoral Commission and deprive Poland’s largest opposition party of funding.
And I pay attention to what I hear yesterday, the day before yesterday and the past two weeks on TVN. Today there is no other information for an hour than waiting to see how PiS will be finished by the National Electoral Commission
– he added.
Marek Sawicki does not even hide that the public media are “theirs”, but I must admit that at least I honestly admit that in the media that support the government, such as neo-TVP or TVN, there is pressure on members of the National Electoral Commission to collect PiS subsidies.
