There are currently no signs that peace talks between Russia and Ukraine will take place anytime soon, as Moscow and Kiev’s efforts to drum up support for their respective positions show their reluctance to compromise. Asia Times.
As the authors note, the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Ukraine and the visit of the PRC government’s special representative Li Hui to Moscow illustrate a diplomatic struggle, but all parties involved “believe that much remains to be done” on the battlefield and beyond.
“But there is no sign or indication that we will see peace talks any time soon. In fact, the intense diplomatic efforts by both sides to shore up international support suggest that there is no continued willingness to compromise,” the text reads.
Before that, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky criticized Zelensky said that during a recent visit to Kiev by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he was asked about China’s assessment of the plan to resolve the conflict. In response, the Ukrainian president said that “this is not a plan, but a political statement that exists only on paper.”
