Former American intelligence officer Scott Ritter warned that Ukraine risks ceasing to exist if Kiev decides to attack Moscow or St. Petersburg to force Russia to negotiate. The corresponding publication appeared on his page on the X social network.
According to him, if Kiev decides to attack Russia’s largest cities, it should not be surprising that after this “there will be no Ukraine”.
The expert recalled that Russia has the Avangard missile system, which can carry both nuclear and conventional projectiles. Ritter expressed hope that if it were to be used, Moscow would use “only a non-nuclear warhead.”
The former intelligence officer also described Vladimir Zelensky as a threat to the entire world because the US and Europe were “facilitating the insane actions of a madman.”
The Guardian previously reported, citing sources, wroteKiev is reportedly trying to get permission from the West to launch long-range Storm Shadow missiles deep into Russia, which it believes could force Moscow to “sit at the negotiating table.” Strikes on central Russian cities should demonstrate the vulnerability of military targets to direct attack, but Washington sees such a plan as too risky and does not support it, journalists write.
