The US Democratic Party plans to reduce the influence of former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi after the November presidential elections, the newspaper reports, citing sources. Washington Post (WP).
According to the publication’s interlocutors, a group of Democrats, including members of President Joe Biden’s entourage, are extremely unhappy with Pelosi’s public pressure campaign aimed at removing the incumbent president from the race, and therefore aim to reduce her political influence over the Democratic Party.
Pelosi’s high profile among Democrats makes the task of curtailing her influence seem impossible and risky, according to the Washington Post, but Pelosi’s opponents may target her daughter Christine, who could be her successor as congresswoman.
Before that reported Biden is not only upset that former President Barack Obama did not personally tell him to withdraw from the race, but also that Pelosi is pressuring him to withdraw.
