A video of Russian President Vladimir Putin respectfully kissing the Quran during his visit to Chechnya has become extremely popular on social networks in Muslim countries. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
The footage was shot on August 20 during Putin’s first visit to Chechnya in 13 years.
“In a video distributed from the Isa Mosque in Grozny, Putin respectfully kisses the Quran, a holy book for all Muslims,” the agency reported.
The video gained popularity on social networks in Türkiye, Syria, as well as Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
