The obligations towards Armenia within the framework of the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) remain unchanged. RIA Novosti – said Mikael Agasandyan, director of the First Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry for the CIS countries.
According to him, there is no alternative guarantor of stability for the republic other than the CSTO and the Russian Federation.
“The dominant line in Yerevan now is to stay away from such interactions,” Agasandyan said.
According to him, this position of Yerevan “contradicts the interests of the Armenian people” as it “significantly weakens national security.”
“There is no alternative to the CSTO and Russia as guarantors of the stability of the republic. Mutual obligations within the organization remain unchanged,” concluded the director of the First Department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Previously, Armenia rejected Participate in the Command Post Exercises with Collective Rapid Reaction Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO CRRF) “Interaction-2024” in early autumn. The exercises will be held in Kyrgyzstan from September 3-15.
